A Letter from the North PTSA Executive Board
First off, a big shout out to Nancy Diamond, Chair of the Art Department, the Student Council and the Art Honors Society for implementing the sale of the yard signs, thanking our healthcare and essential workers who are fighting so hard against this terrible illness. Not only are they a great way of showing our support as a community, but all profits are being shared with families in our North community who are struggling at this time.
It's been six weeks since we have been out of school. It has definitely been a challenging time for all of us. There is so much that seems to worry us - Our families, our health, our finances, and probably most of all, the physical and mental health of our children as they try to navigate their way through the final semester of 19/20. We urge those who have students who are struggling to reach out to the counsellors at North. Although they are in their homes, they are available and more than happy to help.
We at the PTSA are still here too. Although we are not able to hold our monthly meetings or enjoy our Founders' Day, we are still working and are looking toward next year. We cannot wait to get back into the Ram's Cave!! Furthermore, under the guidance of Clarkstown Council of PTAs, our PTSA here at North is looking at ways that we too can help alleviate some of the financial burden of our most needy families. Other PTAs in our district are looking to help their communites too. There will be more information on this soon.
Best wishes to you and your families!
